Webbing Clothes Moth (damage)

Indoor environments, dark closets, attics, and undisturbed storage areas where natural fibers are kept.

Larvae feed exclusively on keratin-rich animal fibers such as wool, silk, fur, feathers, and occasionally soiled cotton or synthetic blends.

Larvae spin protective silken tubes or cases as they feed and move across fabrics, avoiding bright light and preferring dark, undisturbed areas. Adults are weak flyers and tend to run rather than fly.

Risks include significant damage to clothing, carpets, tapestries, and valuable natural fiber textiles. They provide no notable benefits indoors, though they act as minor detritivores in natural settings.
