Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Omnivorous; feeds on seeds, nectar, fruit, and grease, as well as other insects and human food crumbs.
Behavior Patterns
Form large colonies with multiple queens and are known for their territorial battles between neighbouring colonies in the spring.
Risks & Benefits
Mostly considered a nuisance pest in homes. They do not pose significant health risks but can contaminate food supplies. In the ecosystem, they aid in soil aeration and seed dispersal.
