Larvae live within the gelatinous film of drains; they are remarkably resilient to soap and hot water and pupate after about 9-15 days.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless and do not bite or transmit disease. However, large infestations can be a nuisance and may indicate plumbing issues or sanitation needs.
