Case-bearing Clothes Moth (larva case)

Indoors within homes, closets, carpets, upholstered furniture, and textile storage areas

Feeds on natural animal fibers including wool, feathers, fur, hair, lint, and silk

The larva constructs a portable, open-ended cylindrical case out of silk and woven debris, dragging it along as it feeds and eventually pupating inside it

Risks: Causes structural damage to natural clothing, rugs, upholstery, and stored fabrics. Benefits: Serves as a natural decomposer of animal-derived organic matter in wild settings.
