Nectar and pollen from a wide variety of flowering plants and trees

Social bees living in annual colonies. Known for 'nest dance' or swarming behavior near the nest entrance during peak summer where males search for emerging queens. Highly active pollinators from early spring through summer.

Benefits: Crucial pollinator for crops, fruit trees, and wildflowers. Risks: Generally non-aggressive unless their nest is disturbed; females/queens can sting if threatened, but rarely pose a threat.
