Green Stink Bug

Found throughout North America in orchards, gardens, woodlands, and crop fields.

Herbivorous; feeds on a wide variety of plants including fruits, vegetables, and ornamental trees by piercing them and sucking out juices.

Notable for releasing a pungent chemical odor when threatened. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and are most active from late spring through early autumn.

Generally harmless to humans but considered a significant agricultural pest as their feeding can damage crops and cause deformities in fruit. They do not sting or bite humans.
