Bed Bug

Found inside residential structures, particularly in crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and wallpaper near sleeping areas.

Obligate hematophages (blood-feeders), primarily feeding on human blood during the night while the host is asleep.

Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and are attracted to the CO2 and body heat of hosts. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Risks include itchy allergic reactions to bites, secondary skin infections from scratching, and significant psychological distress/insomnia. No known benefits to humans.
