Broad-nosed weevil

Gardens, vegetation, leaf litter, and soil; adults may wander indoors toward lights or warmth.

Adults generally chew leaves, buds, or roots; larvae commonly feed on plant roots or decaying plant material.

Usually nocturnal or secretive, often dropping motionless when disturbed. Complete metamorphosis: egg, grub-like larva, pupa, and adult.

Not dangerous to people and does not bite or sting. Some species damage ornamental or crop plants, while others help decompose organic matter and serve as prey.
