Buildings, garages, basements, sheds, and sheltered outdoor areas; commonly found in temperate regions.

Predatory, feeding mainly on insects and other small arthropods captured in a sheet web with a funnel retreat.

Mostly nocturnal and fast-moving, especially during the mating season. Males wander in search of females; females remain near their webs and produce egg sacs.

Generally harmless to people, with bites uncommon and usually minor. It helps control household insects and is not medically significant.
