Bed bug

Indoor environments, specifically in cracks and crevices near sleeping or resting areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and behind wallpaper.

Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Mainly nocturnal; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They go through five nymphal stages, requiring a blood meal to molt at each stage.

No known benefits. Risks include itchy skin rashes, psychological distress, and allergic reactions from bites. They do not typically transmit diseases but are a significant nuisance and expensive to eradicate.
