Slow-moving and flightless due to small wings; can secrete a foul-smelling, frothy liquid from its thorax as a defense mechanism.

Risks & Benefits

Often considered a nuisance pest in gardens; however, they provide food for certain specialized predators like the Loggerhead Shrike.
