Bed bug

Indoor environments, specifically cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and furniture.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals)

Nocturnal and highly secretive, hiding in dark, narrow crevices during the day and emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis through five nymphal stages.

Risks include painful, itchy bites, secondary skin infections from scratching, psychological distress, and severe infestations that are difficult to eradicate. They provide no known benefits to humans.
