Cave Cricket (also known as Camel Cricket or Spider Cricket)

Dark, damp environments such as caves, basements, crawl spaces, and under mulch or rocks.

Omnivorous scavenger; eats organic debris, fungi, plant matter, and sometimes other insects or fabric.

Nocturnal and flightless. They possess very long legs and antennae for navigating in the dark and are known for their high jumping ability as a primary defense mechanism.

They do not bite or sting and are harmless to humans; however, they can be nuisance pests indoors where they may damage fabrics or paper products if populations are high.
