Jewel stink bug (likely)

Tropical forests, woodland edges, gardens, and agricultural areas, primarily in South and Southeast Asia.

Adults and nymphs pierce plant tissues with straw-like mouthparts, feeding on sap from leaves, shoots, fruits, or seeds.

Usually solitary and active on vegetation; bright warning coloration may deter predators. Nymphs develop through several stages without a pupal phase, and many species emit a strong odor when disturbed.

Generally harmless to people, though some species can damage crops or ornamental plants. They are part of food webs and may serve as prey for birds, reptiles, and predatory insects.
