Masked Hunter (Nymph)

Found indoors in homes, basements, and around outbuildings, as well as outdoors in dry, protected areas.

Carnivorous; feeds on other household insects such as bed bugs, carpet beetles, spiders, and woodlice.

The nymphs cover themselves in dust, lint, and debris to camouflage themselves completely, hence the 'masked' name. They are nocturnal hunters that use a piercing proboscis to inject paralyzing saliva into prey.

Benefits humans by preying on household pests like bed bugs and spiders. They generally avoid humans, but can deliver a painful bite in self-defense if handled or accidentally trapped against the skin.
