Long-bodied cellar spider (probable)

Common indoors, especially in ceilings, corners, basements, garages, and other sheltered, humid areas; also found outdoors in protected spaces.

Predatory, feeding on flies, mosquitoes, moths, other spiders, and small arthropods captured in irregular, tangled webs.

Builds loose cobwebs and often vibrates rapidly when disturbed, becoming difficult to see. Females carry an egg cluster in their jaws; spiderlings remain together briefly after hatching.

Harmless to people and not medically significant; its bite is extremely unlikely. Beneficial indoors because it consumes nuisance insects and other spiders.
