Pavement Ant

Commonly found in urban areas under sidewalks, driveways, and building foundations.

Omnivorous; they eat seeds, honey-dew, nectar, bread, meats, nuts, and other insects.

Social insects living in large colonies; they are known for aggressive territorial battles with neighboring colonies on sidewalks.

Generally considered a nuisance pest indoors; they can contaminate food but do not pose serious health risks or structural damage.
