Green Stink Bug

Fields, orchards, gardens, and woodlands throughout North America.

Herbivorous; feeds on a wide variety of plants including fruits, vegetables, and ornamental trees by piercing tissues and sucking juices.

Diurnal and active from spring through fall; they emit a foul-smelling liquid from thoracic glands as a defense mechanism when threatened.

Can be a significant agricultural pest causing damage to crops like tomatoes and peaches; they are harmless to humans but can become a nuisance when they enter homes to overwinter.
