Booklouse

Damp, warm environments with high humidity, often found in libraries, bathrooms, kitchens, or under wallpaper.

Microscopic fungi, mold, mildew, starch, and organic debris found in household dust or book bindings.

Light-avoiding and fast-moving; they do not fly and rely on high humidity to survive. They reproduce parthenogenetically in many species.

Harmless to humans and pets as they do not bite or transmit disease, but can be a nuisance and may damage starchy materials or indicate a moisture problem.
