Bed Bug

Found worldwide in human dwellings, typically in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and headboards.

Hematophagous (obligate blood-feeders); they primarily feed on human blood but will also feed on other warm-blooded animals.

Mainly nocturnal; they emerge from hiding at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and can survive for months without a blood meal.

Risks: Can cause itchy welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. While they do not transmit diseases, the stains shown (fecal spots or crushed bugs) indicate an infestation requiring professional treatment.
