Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophage; they feed exclusively on human blood several times a day.
Behavior Patterns
They are sedentary and grasp hair shafts with specialized claws. They cannot jump or fly and are usually transmitted through close physical contact or shared bedding.
Risks & Benefits
Causes intense itching (pruritus) and blue spots on the skin. They are not known to transmit diseases but the scratching can lead to secondary bacterial infections.
