Microscopic mold, fungi, algae, starch-based adhesives, and decaying organic matter

Prefer high humidity (above 60%) to prevent desiccation; fast-moving, wingless, and reproduce rapidly in favorable warm and damp conditions

Harmless to humans and pets (do not bite or spread disease); minor nuisance pest as large populations can contaminate stored food products or damage paper products
